Dear friends,
In an attempt to make the year 1897 more interesting than it already is without having to rely on aliens, vampires and zombies, I will celebrate the coming year by showering you with fun facts I discovered about every day in 1897, entitling it "This Day in (Somewhat Inaccurate) History, 1897."
It is my hope that this little venture will be both informative and uninformative and perhaps inspire you to look into our proud nation's history with a deep eye because interneting and wikipeeing seem to be all the rage these days. For example, did you know that neither the Internets nor Wikipedia existed in 1897? Wikipedia used to be books and computers used to be women! My God, that's something!
I hope you will take this trip down memory lane with me that no one remembers, perhaps becoming so interested that you might want to purchase a copy of 1897: ALIENS! VAMPIRES! ZOMBIES! just to see how far off I am about historical events.
You can now enjoy every single day in 1897 by following the 1897: ALIENS! VAMPIRES! ZOMBIES! facebook page, which appears here in a different color because different colors mean links to other places. I also will do my best to "tweet" and "tumble" these passages even though, in my mind, these words should mean very different things. Not necessarily sexual euphemisms but... all right yes, sexual euphemisms. I apparently have the awkward wit of a fourteen year-old boy.
On that note, I end this transmission, or BLOG, which may or may not be an acronym. Thank you for your time and I look forward to filling your heads with interesting and thought-provoking nonsense.
Yours, and also yours,
SMW
