From the pages of the Otago Witness - Dunedin, New Zealand's local paper of record: At the City Police Court on the 13th inst. Edward Robert M'Evoy alias Spence, Charles H. Dyer, and Cecil Page were individually charged with having insufficient lawful means of support. When Spence tried to point out the case Curran v. City Police Court (June 3rd), the judge was quick to mention that Spence and his two layabout friends were not University students and Curran lost that case anyway. The judge sentenced them and recommended that Spence put his clever mind to some use and enroll in University instead of just loitering around herds of sheep trying to look tough and indifferent.
